Privacy Policy

Edufacilitators Nexus Ltd, operating the Nexus Institute of Innovation & Technology (NIIT), is responsible for the NIIT Unified Platform. This policy explains how the Android app and web portal handle personal data.

Data we handle

Depending on your relationship with NIIT, the platform may hold identity and contact details; account, role and authentication data; applications and admissions records; attendance, coursework, grades and project evidence; service requests and communications; payment references and invoices; device notification tokens; security, audit and technical logs.

Why we use it

We use data to deliver education and institutional services, administer accounts and enrollment, support learners, process authorized payments, issue verified records, secure the platform, meet legal obligations, and improve service quality. Academic, financial and account decisions with significant consequences require authorized human review.

Sharing and international processing

Access is limited by role. We may use contracted hosting, communications, analytics, payment and education providers only for approved purposes and under safeguards. Any processing or transfer outside Rwanda must follow applicable authorization, registration and protection requirements. We do not sell personal data.

Retention and security

Records are retained only for their approved educational, financial, contractual, security or legal purpose, then deleted or irreversibly anonymized. Retention differs by record type. The platform uses access controls, encryption, audit logging and independent review; no system can eliminate all risk.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct, restrict or delete eligible personal data, object where applicable, or withdraw consent without making withdrawal harder than giving it. Some official academic, financial, fraud prevention or legal records may need to be retained. Requests require identity verification.

To request account deletion, use the public deletion form. For other privacy requests, contact the official EF NEXUS / NIIT support or privacy office through the contact channel published with your enrollment or employment documents.

Children and safeguarding

Where services involve minors, NIIT applies appropriate guardian authorization, restricted access and safeguarding procedures. The public platform is not intended for unsupervised account creation by children.

Changes

Material changes will be dated and communicated through the platform or the registered contact channel.
