Privacy Policy
This policy covers Kairova (niitunified.space/kairova and the Kairova screens of the NIIT Unified Android app). It is operated by EF Nexus Ltd (Kigali, Rwanda). The separate NIIT Unified Privacy Policy covers NIIT's education services. Contact for privacy requests: support@niitunified.space.
What we collect
- Account: name, e-mail address, password (stored only as a bcrypt hash), date of birth (to apply the minimum age), country of residence, and, if you use Sign in with Google, your Google account identifier and verified e-mail.
- Profile you choose to fill in: education level, fields, interests, skills, languages, target countries and regions, remote preference and your goal. We do not ask for nationality.
- Security: answers to security questions (stored only as keyed hashes), one-time codes (hashed, expire after 10 minutes), signed-in devices (device label, IP address, browser user agent, last activity), failed sign-in counts, and a security audit log of sign-ins, sign-ups and account changes with IP address.
- Your activity on Kairova: saved opportunities, alerts, opportunities you opened with a free weekly unlock, your application tracker, and applications you send through Kairova Hire.
- Talent profile and documents (optional): headline, availability, CV and documents you upload for review.
- Payments: plan, amount, currency, payment method, the provider's transaction reference and, for mobile money, your phone number. Card numbers are entered on the payment provider's page; Kairova never receives or stores them.
- Invitations: who invited whom and whether the invitation led to a payment.
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on Kairova and we do not sell personal data. See Cookies & storage.
Why we use it
- To run your account and keep it secure (contract and legitimate interest in preventing fraud and account takeover).
- To match and filter opportunities for you and send the alerts you set (contract).
- To send match and deadline e-mails when you have opted in; you can switch them off in Account & security or from any such e-mail (consent).
- To take payments, issue receipts and keep financial records (contract and legal obligation).
- To share an application with the employer you chose to apply to: your name, e-mail, country, education level, fields, skills, headline, CV and answers (your instruction).
Who processes it for us
- Hosting and database providers that run the service.
- Brevo, to deliver e-mails (codes, receipts, alerts).
- Google, if you choose Sign in with Google, and Google Cloud (Firebase) Storage for uploaded files.
- The payment provider that handles your payment.
- Verified employers, only for applications you send them, and an EF Nexus advisor for documents you submit for review (Elite).
Some of these providers process data outside Rwanda and outside your country. We use them only for the purposes above.
How long we keep it
- Account and profile data: while your account exists. When you delete your account they are deleted, including your CV, uploaded documents, alerts, saved items, invitations and signed-in devices.
- Applications already sent to an employer stay with that employer as a withdrawn record without your name, e-mail, CV, answers or messages.
- One-time codes are deleted automatically within a day after they expire. A sign-in on a device ends 30 days after it started.
- Payment receipts and provider transaction records are kept after account deletion because financial records must be kept by law; they reference a member number, not your name or e-mail.
- Security audit logs are kept for security and fraud prevention.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent. You can correct your profile and delete your account yourself in Account & security. For anything else, write to support@niitunified.space; we will verify that the request comes from the account holder. You may also complain to your data-protection authority.
Children
Kairova is for people aged 13 and over. We do not show advertising or use behavioural tracking on Kairova.
